Life led Jerry to fashion design in an unexpected way. His football and track talent propelled him to college where he studied architecture and fine art. Two years later, the Detroit native was on his way to study fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York. The industry took quick notice and he was already working before graduating from Parsons.

His career has span over 25 years, working for notable names like Alexander Julian, Hartmarx, Bobby Jones, and also includes 13 years as Creative Director for Perry Ellis. Over the past few years, Jerry created his own consulting firm and has partnered with brands such as Levi’s and Robert Graham.

In 2015 the decision was made to launch Jerry Kaye. The collection is rooted in the appreciation of art and design. Italy was a natural choice. Twenty years of working in Italy allows Kaye the ability to design with artisan hand finishing, hand painting and dyeing. His personal relationships with mills allow him to create new and exclusive fabrics. The result is a collection of American design with a European influence creating a modern sensibility.

Men want to look good, feel good and want others to see that by the clothes they wear. Stand out in a crowd by not being the loudest but being the most confident in what they wear.
